Circuit Overseer

Traveling to strengthen congregations across a circuit

About This Role

The circuit overseer is an experienced elder appointed by the branch to travel among the congregations in a circuit, typically 15 to 20 congregations. He and his wife visit each congregation twice a year, spending a week at a time with each one to encourage and support the local publishers.

The circuit overseer role is full-time service in the truest sense. He and his wife don't have a permanent home of their own; they simplify their lives for the traveling work and pour themselves out to help their brothers and sisters. Despite the sacrifices, it's a deeply rewarding assignment full of blessings!

What to Expect at the Booth

  • Hear from a circuit overseer (or his wife) about what the life is like
  • Understand their schedule — learn how visits work and how they live on the road
  • Understand the challenges and blessings of the traveling work
  • Learn what qualifications and experience are needed
  • Find out how young brothers can start working toward this goal

Who This Is For

This booth is for brothers who want to serve in an expanded capacity, and also for all who want to learn more about the assignment of their Circuit Overseer and wife. The CO role requires an elder with substantial experience in congregation oversight, so it's a long-term goal, but every brother who aspires to it can start building the qualifications now.
